On Monday 28 September, on stage at the Théâtre Mogador in Paris, Artifeel, the City of Stockholm and Dipar jointly received the bronze medal in the “Co-construction” category at the 20th Nuit de la Sécurité Globale, for their joint project “Smart protection against vehicle ramming attacks”.
Nuit de la Sécurité Globale: an award shared by three
That makes three for Artifeel at the Nuit de la Sécurité Globale, and a 16th award since the company was founded. After 2022 and 2024, Artifeel is back on the podium at the Nuit de la Sécurité Globale.
This time, not alone. The medal rewards a project led with the Trafikkontoret, the City of Stockholm’s Transport Administration, responsible for streets, traffic and public space, and Dipar, a subsidiary of Rapid Security.
Their shared ambition: to make smart the thousands of benches, planters and concrete blocks that already protect pedestrians in the Swedish capital against vehicle ramming attacks.
For Alain Staron, founder and CEO of Artifeel, this 16th award is unlike any other:
“This 16th award is particularly special to us: it is the first we have received for a project co-developed with our client and our partner. What’s more, it is an international project, carried out with a public institution, to protect citizens.”
A project made possible by our partner Dipar. A specialist in innovative security solutions for critical infrastructure in the Nordic and Baltic markets, Dipar quickly identified the city’s need. Working hand in hand with the Artifeel teams, it then designed a complete deployment and monitoring solution, tailored to each type of structure to be protected.
Roland Pacerek, Coordinator Vehicle Security Barriers, HVM & CT, City of Stockholm / Transport Administration, explains:
“Protecting our vehicle security barriers is an important part of the city’s security work, and we needed a way to detect and act on deviations faster. Check’In gives us real-time alerts, and Dipar’s solution and understanding of our operations made them a natural choice.”
Many thanks to Roland Pacerek and Anna Wenman for travelling to Paris to share this moment with us.
And thank you to Fredrik Boye and the Dipar teams, who brought this project to life.

More than a trophy: recognition from security professionals
Organised by Républik Group, the Nuit de la Sécurité Globale brings together security professionals every year around its awards. This 20th edition saw 80 companies and local authorities compete, in an evening dedicated to physical and cyber security.
The Co-construction category recognises projects developed and delivered jointly by a client and a supplier. And a place on the podium has to be earned.
After an initial selection based on written applications in July, each finalist went before the jury of industry professionals on 8 September for a demanding pitch: three minutes to convince, three minutes to answer questions.
Projects are assessed on innovation, effectiveness and return on investment, long-term viability, and quality of presentation.
Above all, the verdict comes from people who know the field.
The jury brings together 25 decision-makers, most of them security directors at major organisations such as Air France, Crédit Agricole, Meta, Engie, Suez, TF1, Thales and Veolia, alongside leading bodies such as CNPP and AN2V. This is peer recognition, presented in front of 800 industry professionals.
With Check’In, Stockholm makes its anti-ramming barriers smart
Since the 2017 vehicle ramming attack, Stockholm has installed thousands of protective structures in its streets: benches, concrete lions, spherical planters… Discreet and blended into the street furniture, they have one weak point. If moved, poorly repositioned or damaged, they leave a gap that no one can see.
The challenge was to equip structures of very different shapes and materials without turning the city into an “urban bunker” or complicating maintenance. The answer: a single Check’In unit, designed around the most constrained location. Fully autonomous, with no Wi-Fi or mains power required, it monitors the integrity and position of each structure 24/7. Its embedded AI, which analyses data directly inside the unit, tells the difference between cleaning or authorised handling and a violent impact or suspicious movement. If an anomaly occurs, a real-time alert is sent to the monitoring centre or field teams.

For Fredrik Boye, CEO of Dipar, the real value of the approach lies in existing infrastructure. Local authorities that have already invested in bollards, barriers or hostile vehicle mitigation (HVM) measures can retrofit Check’In without replacing any hardware. Their existing protective estate becomes a monitored, responsive security network:
“Check’In does not replace existing physical protection. It makes it intelligent. In an era where the threat of vehicular attacks is both persistent and evolving, Check’In provides what static barriers alone cannot: awareness, continuity of protection, and the confidence that if something moves, someone will know.”
An approach that could soon extend to many other places: event sites, public buildings, landmark locations…
